The Batala, Co-Operative Sugar Mills Ltd., was inaugurated by Sh.Partap Singh Kairon, then Chief Minister of Punjab on 10.04.1961. The crushing season was started from 1963-64 and now completed its no of 54 crushing seasons successfully. It’s basic crushing capacity was 1000 tones daily, but in the year 1986-87 it was increased upto 1500 tones daily by spending an amount of Rs. 450 lacs. |

Presently, 324 total number of village falling under jurisdiction of the Batala Co-Operative Sugar Mills.Ltd., Batala and 2778 sugarcane growers supplying sugarcane to this Mill. There are 28498 personal and 783 Co-Operatives share holders having 138.69 lacs rupees and 3.88 lacs rupees sequently their share in this Sugar Mill . This is first Co-Operative Suagr Mill in Punjab which returns all the costs to the Government which earlier provided from its own sources. —>> |
